At Castle Grange Care Home, we recently had the pleasure of celebrating Chinese New Year with the wonderful children from Mana Nursery. This special intergenerational event brought together our residents and young visitors for a vibrant day of cultural celebration, creativity, and connection.

To mark the Year of the Snake, residents and children participated in:

  • Arts and Crafts – Together, they created lanterns, lucky charms, and mosaic snakes to honor the occasion.
  • Traditional Treats – Fortune cookies and festive snacks were enjoyed while learning about the traditions and significance of Chinese New Year.
  • Paper Dragons and Play – The room was filled with joy and laughter as residents and children worked together on this beloved tradition.

Intergenerational activities like these go beyond being enjoyable—they bring significant benefits for both age groups. These moments enhance well-being, reduce loneliness, and create meaningful relationships. Seeing the smiles and shared moments of joy between our residents and the children was a powerful reminder of how impactful these connections can be.

At Castle Grange, we are dedicated to fostering a welcoming and enriching environment where residents can thrive, create lasting memories, and feel part of a vibrant community.
