St. Mary’s Lodge Care Home, a leading eldercare facility located in Anlaby, Hull, is thrilled to announce the remarkable journey of one of its dedicated employees, Ellie Roundill, who is set to embark on a fulfilling career in the Ambulance Service.
Ellie has been an integral part of the St. Mary’s Group family since October 2019. Her journey with the company began as a compassionate Care Assistant, and over the years, she demonstrated unwavering dedication and a passion for her work. Her dream of joining the Ambulance Service has been a driving force throughout her career, and her commitment to this goal has never wavered.
During her employment at St. Mary’s Lodge, Ellie’s exemplary work ethic and commitment to residents’ well-being earned her a promotion to the role of Senior Care Assistant. Her positive attitude, empathy, and professionalism have left an indelible mark on both residents and staff at the care home.
Ellie’s aspirations for a career in the Ambulance Service were well-known within the St. Mary’s Lodge community, and the home wholeheartedly supported her journey. When faced with the challenging recruitment process, which included a specific requirement, Ellie went above and beyond by obtaining her C1 driving license to enhance her qualifications.
The pivotal moment arrived in July when Ellie secured an interview with the Ambulance Service. After an agonising week of anticipation, she received the life-changing news of her successful job offer. The joyous occasion of Ellie sharing this news with her colleagues and the St. Mary’s Lodge family marked a profoundly proud moment for everyone involved.
Subsequently, Ellie successfully passed her physical assessment and was provided with a start date for her 10-week training program. Her transition to the Ambulance Service signifies the culmination of her dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to her chosen career path.
While Ellie’s departure is bittersweet for St. Mary’s Lodge Care Home, the team is equally thrilled and excited for her as she embarks on this new and impactful journey. Ellie’s future endeavors in the Ambulance Service will undoubtedly touch the lives of many, just as she has made a profound difference in the St. Mary’s Lodge community.
Today, as Ellie completed her last shift the staff and residents made sure to surprise her with a farewell party. Drinking plenty of alcohol-free Nosecco, and devouring the specially made cupcakes, adorned with images of ambulances, and full-on amazing buffet, Ellie was presented with lots of gifts from staff, residents and their families.
St. Mary’s Lodge Care Home takes immense pride in having had the privilege to support Ellie in achieving her dreams. Her dedication to providing quality care to the elderly and vulnerable will undoubtedly continue to shine in her new role, benefiting the wider community.
