Last week, Hutton Manor Care Home welcomed some very special guests. The Little Movers toddler group and Year 1 children from Pudsey Waterloo Primary School visited, bringing joy and energy to our residents. The children delighted everyone with their singing, dancing, and plenty of interactive activities.
The day was filled with smiles as the children and residents paired up for games like balloon tennis and shared moments dancing with colourful scarves and ribbons. It was a heartwarming experience for all involved, and the children even picked a “Star of the Day.” They chose our lovely resident, Betty, for the honour.
Intergenerational activities like these are not only fun but also come with real benefits. Research shows that such interactions can have a positive impact on mental health across generations. For older adults, participating in these activities can help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. For children, spending time with older generations fosters a sense of security and support, contributing to better mental well-being.
At Hutton Manor, we are committed to creating meaningful experiences that bring our community together. We believe that these connections make a significant difference in the lives of our residents, helping to build a vibrant, supportive environment.
